Appraisal District Boundary is the County Boundary |
Monday, 24 March 2008 |
Effective January 1, 2008, HB 1010 requires an appraisal district's boundary to be the same as that of the County in which it resides. This means that each appraisal district will only appraise properties located in the county in which they serve, resulting in a single property appraisal. Additionally, this will benefit the taxpayer by limiting the need to conduct appraisal related business with multiple appraisal districts. There will be only one place to file exemptions, value disputes, notice of mailing address corrections, ownership updates...etc. As a result of this law, all appraisal information concerning property located outside the Denton County boundary is no longer appraised by Denton CAD. For appraisal information on properties located outside of Denton County, please contact the appraisal district in which the property is located.

Because of our conversion to True Automation's appraisal software, we now have the ability to provide much more functionality on the website. Several enhancements are already planned, statistical information on neighborhoods and subdivisions, enhanced mapping services, customizable data exports done online, a mobile property search that you can access from your internet-enabled phone...etc. While we have many ideas for improvement, your needs are what we're most interested in. So, if you have a wishlist of functionality you'd like to see on our website or some feedback about the current functionality, please visit the helpdesk and send us your ideas and requests via the feedback category. |
